3 Things To Take Advantage Of When Staying In A Hotel

If you are like the majority of 30 somethings plus, you were raised to have manners no matter where you are and to leave things as you found them, if not better than you found them. However, when we embark on vacation, the point is to take a break from reality, right?

This is not permission to leave you manners at home, but it is encouragement to slack off a little bit and allow yourself to indulge in the catering of the hotel you find yourself in. Here are three ways hotels want you to take advantage of the services they offer.

Forget Making The Bed

Everyday, there are little things that we have to do around the house in order to keep things, at least, livable. Most of us do not enjoy living in filth and like to keep up with the cleaning a little at a time so that big deep cleans aren’t necessary more than once or twice a year. However, when you are on vacation and staying at a hotel, these manners are no longer needed. Every hotel has a daily maid service.

They make the bed, clean the bathrooms, take out the trash, and vacuum. Why worry about it? You need time to dedicate to being a lazy tourist. With that said, there is no need to deface property and disrespect the help, but take advantage of this amenity and spend more time relaxing and getting back to a more relaxed you.

Bask In The Sun

In the Summer months, especially, when planning our vacations, we tend to look for hotels with pools. Swimming is one of the number one things on the mind of any child when Summer break approaches. Many times, if you can secure a hotel with a pool, you won’t need to go anywhere else if you don’t want to.

The simple idea of a swimming pool is enough to keep most children occupied for hours. Just make sure to keep everyone protected with sunblock. Even in the early morning and evening hours, when temperatures are cooler, a lot of hotels employ pool heaters to make sure that their guests can swim whenever the fancy hits them.

Take this time to swim until your heart’s content or take advantage of a built in babysitter. However, it is wise to accompany children under the age of 12 or those who can not swim.

Let Them Make You Breakfast

I would say that there isn’t one person on this planet that doesn’t enjoy the privilege of having  a home cooked meal. They are hot, filling, and enjoyable, to say the least. However, there is a lot of work that goes into them and unless your full time job is that of housewife/husband, cooking meals day after day is a very tiring detail of everyday life. Even then, it can wear you out.

When on vacation, choose a hotel that serves a hot breakfast. Now, the majority of hotels will only serve breakfast from about 6am – 11am, but there is nothing wrong with getting up, having a great meal, and going back to bed. After all, you are on vacation. No schedule necessary.

In the end, it is the business of hotels to pamper you and make sure that your vacation is as relaxing as possible. Take advantage of it. Let them do their job. You’ll enjoy yourself much more in the long run.
